CAS 2008, October 13-15, 2008, Sinaia, Romania

The 2008 International Semiconductor Conference (CAS 2008) – former Annual Semiconductor Conference – is the 31th of an annual sequence and is the 18th edition with international participation.The aim of the conference is two–fold. First, it provides a forum of debate on selected topics of scientific research and technological development. On the other hand, this is an occasion for refreshing a broad perspective of the participants through invited papers and tutorials.

TOPICS: Contributions in solid-state devices and (sub)systems are called in the following domains.
- Simulation and fabrication of microstructures and microsystems:
surface and bulk micromachining, microengineering techniques, electro-opto-mechanical microsystems, microsensor and actuator integration, signal processing, computational intelligence and system interfacing, biosensors and microsystems for biomedical application; optical, opto-electronic and photonic functional components, RF MEMS;
- Science and technology of nanostructures and nanostructured materials:

composite nanoparticles and nanostructures with selective properties, nanostructures and nanostructured materials with special properties, nanotechnologies and nanostructure;
- Semiconductor device physics and technology:

device modelling and simulation, silicon and compound semiconductor devices, heterostructures, advanced materials and processes, reliability and defect engineering;
- Design and technology of microelectronic components:
microelectronic, microphotonic and microwave integrated subsystems, devices and modules for power control and conversion, specialized electronic circuits integrated in the microelectronic technology, testing and reliability;

HIGHLIGHTS:
- Nanoscience and nanoengineering
- Microoptics and microphotonics
- Micromachined devices and circuits for microwave and millimeter wave applications
- Micro and nanotechnologies for transducers, interfaces and microsystems
- Micro and nanotechnologies for biomedical and environmental applications
- Novel materials and intelligent materials
- Power devices and microelectronics (including CAD)

The 30th edition of the International Semiconductor Conference (CAS 2007), 15- 17 October 2007, Sinaia, Romania (Details...)

The 30th edition of the International Semiconductor Conference (CAS 2007), 15- 17 October 2007, Sinaia, Romania
The conference is organized by the National Institute for Research and Development in Mictrotechnologies, Bucharest (IMT-Bucharest), under the aegis of the IEEE-Electron Devices Society, Ministry for Education and Research, Romanian Academy, IEEE-Romania Section and Electron Devices Chapter. The Conference is underlying the development in micro-and nanotechnologies, still maintaining the “traditional” connection with semiconductor electronics.
Highlights Topics: - nanoscience and nanoengineering;- microoptics and microphotonics;- micromachined devices and circuits for microwave and millimeter wave applications; - micro and nanotechnologies for transducers, interfaces and microsystems;- micro and nanotechnologies for biomedical and environmental applications;- novel materials and intelligent materials;- power devices and microelectronics (including CAD);
CAS 2007 program will consist in contributed (structured in oral or poster sessions) and invited papers. Authors are requested to submit the electronic file in Microsoft Word format via e-mail (cas@imt.ro) for evaluation by the Program Committee.

Important dates: Deadline for submission: June 10th, 2007; Notification of acceptance: July 17th, 2007;

MINOS-EURONET event with the support of the European Commission and participation of ROMNET-ERA, PRO-BIOSYS, EON-CW
"Microsystems as a platform for integrating micro/nano/biotechnologies", Bucharest, 23-25 May 2007

The event agenda is available at the address:
http://www.minos-euro.net/23-25may2007/programme.htm

The title above states for three events, grouped during three consecutive days.

The scientific and brokerage event is devoted to micro-nanosystems and will take place on 24th of May 2007, according to the programme. The Head of "Micro- nanosystems" unit from EC and various specialists from abroad will attend the event.

Please register here if you are interested to participate.

In order to assure an improved efficiency for participation, we recommend you to fill in a simple form with information about the profile/offer of the institution you are representing [details].
This profile/offer can be presented in detail and illustrated by photos in a poster similar to that “form”. Please use the template for poster provided by the organisers. If you are interested, you may see an example of poster used during a similar MINOS brokerage event that took place in March 2007. The posters realized according to the model can be uploaded here.

The posters will be printed free of charge (costs supported by the organizers) and presented to the events in the period 23-25 May 2007 only if they will sent (uploaded on the event web site) until May 19, 2007. The updated information will be available on the web site and with the occasion of other events.

The information will be presented to participants at MINOS events, but also to participants at the brokerage event in Brussels, May 29, 2007 (details about this event). The information exchange will be useful also for the launching of PNCDI2.

The event from May 24, 2007 is preceded by a “technological brokerage”, at IMT-Bucharest, starting at 16:00 on May 23, 2007. The programme is accessible here. The oral presentations and posters, experimental demonstrations and debates will be focused on the acces to micro- and nanotechnologies in EU.
The authors of posters displaying the profile/offer in the domain are invited to participate and asked to send confirmation by e-mail at technology@imt.ro (due to limited number of sits).
