LAAS-CNRS Toulouse, France (www.laas.fr)
LAAS-CNRS in Toulouse is a research institute belonging to CNRS having technological facilities for Silicon based Micro/nano-systems, characterization facilities from DC, up to the field of microwave and millimetre wave including exhaustive noise measurements capabilities and to the optic field. LAAS-CNRS has been labeled as technology platform by the French government (together with Paris, Lille and CEA in Grenoble). LAAS-CNRS has initiated research in the field of RF-MEMS since 1995 and in the field of MEMS based sensor since 1990. LAAS-CNRS is involved also in developments in Optical-MEMS and photonic crystals.

FORTH Heraklion, Greece (www.iesl.forth.gr)
FORTH-IESL-MRG in Heraklion was founded in 1986 and is a joint research effort of the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL) of FORTH and the Department of Physics, University of Crete. Since then, it has evolved into a unique, in Greece, full-scale research facility in compound semiconductor micro- and opto-electronics. FORTH-IESL-MRG has developed strong expertise in technology and physics of III-V materials (arsenides & nitrides), devices and ICs through active participation in particular.
