The International Semiconductor Conference CAS 2020 will take place in the historical mountain resort of Sinaia. 
Sinaia is located on the Prahova River valley, just east of the Bucegi Mountains (their highest altitude is 2.500 m). The town was named after Sinaia Monastery, around which it was built; the monastery in turn is named after the Biblical Mount Sinai. King Carol I of Romania built his summer home, Peleș Castle, near the town in the late nineteenth century.

Places to visit in Sinaia and surroundings

Peles Royal Castle and Pelisor Castle (details) are within 15-20 minutes walking distance from the hotel. Peles Castle is one of the best-preserved royal palaces in Europe. It served as the summer residence of the first Hohenzollern king of Romania, Carol I. Built in the latter half of the 19th century, it was the king's attempt to imitate the styles of his former homeland, creating a Bavarian setting in the mountains of Romania.

Cantacuzino Castle [...], situated in the town of Busteni (8.5 km from Sinaia), is surrounded by waterfalls, caves and fountains and is in top castles in Romania in terms of architecture.

Bran Castle [...] (from the XIV century, recently related to the famous “Dracula”) may be visited on a few hours trip. It is situated in the picturesque Bran Valley, only 60 km distance from Sinaia via Paraul Rece.
