Travel options from Bucharest Henri Coanda airport to Sinaia and back

 

Participants are kindly asked to make their own transport arrangements from/to the airport.
The nearest airport to Sinaia is Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport (Otopeni – OTP).

  • By train (estimated time 2h30 min – 3h):

1. Travel from the airport to the Bucharest North Railway Station (“Gara de Nord”)

You could take the Express bus line 780 to Bucharest North Railway Station. Bus stops are right outside the Arrivals (ground floor) and Departures terminals. Cards should be purchased before boarding the bus from the Card desk in front of the Arrivals Terminal. The magnetic card valid for two travels costs 7 RON (1.5 Euro). The buses leave from the airport every 30-40 min. starting 05:35 to 23:10 and the journey to North Railway Station takes about 50 min. (except rush hour). Alternatively, you can take a taxi to North Railway Station. Inside the airport there are touch screen terminals for taxi orders. Licensed taxis are available at the terminal exit and accept passengers in order of their arrival.

2. Take a train to Sinaia. Direct trains (IR – InterRegio) are available from 06:00 to 21:00 and the journey takes about 1h30min.

The train station in Sinaia is situated within walking distance (10 min.) to New Montana Hotel.

  • By shuttle buses (estimated time 2h):

The timetable and possibility for online booking for an airport shuttle service are available at https://www.transfero.ro/en/ - select: ORAS PLECARE (DEPARTURE): Otopeni Aeroport, ORAS DESTINATIE (ARRIVAL): Sinaia, DATA PLECARE (DEPARTURE DATE).
The shuttle buses station is located at the Arrivals terminal, ground floor (covered parking area).

  • Rent-a-car

Rent a car counters are located within the passageway between the Departures Terminal and the Arrivals Terminal.
