HYFLEP
Hybrid flexible interface for energy purposes

About project Results Objectives Impact project

¤ General dates:

  • Implementing period: 2015-2017
  • Budget project: 549.585 RON
  • Domain project: Materials science

¤ About project

The driving motivation of this project proposal dwells in the development and investigation of graphene based materials (Gbm) suitable to be integrated in novel types of photovoltaic devices (PV) based on Gbm/Silicon heterostructures. [more details]

¤ Results

  • synthesis and targeted derivatization of graphene quantum dots (GQDs);
  • development of a chemical method for obtaining GQDs/Si nano- heterojunctions;
  • knowledge related to physical-chemical and transport properties at the GQDs/ nanoSi interface;
  • developing a PV device design and fabrication of PV device based on GQDs/Si flexible heterostructure, as well as evaluation of stability of the graphene-based heterostructures under realistic operating and processing conditions, and consequently the feasibility of usage of the GQDs in PV technology.
    [more details]

¤ Objectives:

The goal of this project and the general objective to make a step beyond the state of the art, to demonstrate the functionality of novel hybrid architecture based on flexible nanopatterned substrate (nanoSi) and graphene quantum dots (GQDs) for photovoltaic devices, by thoroughly understanding the properties of the resulting nanosystem, from both experimental and theoretical point of views.
