CMOS Voltage Reference for Low-Noise LDOs

Abstract.
The paper presents a CMOS voltage reference built within a low-noise LDO processed in a double-metal 0.5 mm CMOS technology. The reference consumes 10 mA, while delivering a stable output voltage of +1.25 V. The reference has a quick-start feature allowing the active charging of an external 10 nF bypass capacitor within 200 ms. Power Supply Rejection Ratio is 100 dB at low frequencies, while typical TC is 20 ppm/ °C, and un-trimmed V_REF spread 25 mV (±3 s).
