Towards portable nanoplastic detection’system by harnessing the plasmonic hot spots potential using advanced optical platforms

 

Team

Research team: 5 post-docs (2 physics, 2 electronics, 1 chemistry) and 5 PhD Students (2 chemistry, 3 physics), as follows:

1. Adina Boldeiu, U-1700-039G-0801, Project Leader, Post doc - PhD in Chemistry, 2012 focused on nanoparticles synthesis, controlled layer-by-layer assembly surface functionalization, DLS, zeta potential, silicon nanostructuration, nanostructures synthesis, 3D assembling, size distribution/surface charge investigations, optimization solutions;

2. Pericle Varasteanu, U-1700-038P-6235, PhD St -   PhD student in Physics, mainly focused on FEM and FDTD simulations for new optoelectronic devices, numerical modellingof the metallic based nanostructures, optimal design for SERS/SEIRS platform;

3. Roxana Tomescu, Post-doc – PhD in Electronics in 2015, focused on plasmonic metasurfaces;

4. Alexandru Bujor, U-1900-062Y-0772, PhD St - PhD student in Chemistry, focused on synthesis of organic heterostructures;

5. Adrian Apostol, U-1700-033C-0024, PhD St - PhD student in Chemistry, focused on development of composite materials based on graphene decorated with complex heterostructures;

6. Iuliana Mihalache, U-1700-039Y-3477, Post doc - PhD in Physics, 2016, UB focused on carbon-based nanomaterials (optical and electrical properties of nanocomposites, energy levels 0D nanomaterials);

7. Cosmin Romanitan, U-1700-038F-6250,  Post doc - PhD in Physics focused on identification of material phases, crystallite size and stress, dislocation density through XRD;

8. Octavian Simionescu, U-1800-046N-5218, PhD St. – PhD student in Physics, focused on growth processes for carbon-based nanomaterials applicable to sensors and energy;

9. Irina Bratosin, U-1900-062C-0136,  PhD St. - PhD student in Physics, focused on development of hybrid heterostructures for energy storage;

10. Razvan Pascu, U-1700-032J-2365,  Post doc - PhD in Electronics, 2015, UPB focused on fabrication of semiconductor devices and investigation of the interface trap levels by various DC/AC electrical techniques;
