Dr. Angela Mihaela BARACU, ([email protected])

received BSc (2011) in electronics, from the University “Politehnica” of Bucharest, Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology. In 2013 she became Master of Science in Microsystems and in 2018 she received the Ph.D. in Electronics and Telecommunications from the same University.
Her main field of scientific interest is focused on design, micro-nanofabrication and characterization of sensors based on surface acoustic waves (SAW); fabrication and characterization of MEMS/RF-MEMS structures: cantilevers, membranes, microgrippers, radio frequency switches; development of optical lenses based on metasurfaces.
Dr. Baracu is coordinating two national projects: Ultrasensitive sensor for NO2 detection at room temperature, based on SAW devices <NO2SAW> PN-III-P1-1.1-PD-2021-0495 (2022-2024) and Molecular imprinting technique integrated with surface acoustic wave technology for the development of sensitive and selective sensors for glyphosate detection from water samples <GLYSens> PN-III-P2-2.1-PED-2021-3279 (2022-2024).  During 2013-2021 she coordinated one subsidiary project financed from structural funds (POC-G): Sensitive platform with SAW sensor for the detection of flammable, potentially explosive gases <SAWGAS> in collaboration with a Romanian company, Ctr. No. C77.3D/08.03.2018 (2018-2019) and has been involved in numerous international (ERANET, SEE-Grant EEA-RO-NO) and national (PN-III: PED, PCCDI) projects as a key member of the research team.
Her scientific activity has resulted in over 40 scientific papers presented at national and international conferences and published in prestigious ISI journals (author and co-author) and three patents.
