Dispozitiv electrochimic modular  pentru stocarea de sarcina / Multi-celled electrochemical STOrage Devices

Demonstration experimental project
Project duration:
10 august 2020- 31 iulie 2022
Project budget: 600.000 RON
Main domain: Eco-nano-technologies and advanced materials

Objectives

Using etched porous silicon we aim to develop novel hybrid architectures based on layers of graphene, electrochemically grafted as graphene precursors, thus being able to deliver advanced multi-celled supercapacitors.

The main specific objectives are:

O1. Reproducible and scalable technology for an advanced multi-celled supercapacitor exploring the best matching between pores size, electrode material and electrolyte;

O2. Self-contained design for SCs addressing shape restrictions, leakage or drying of the electrolyte;

O3. Widening the potential window and advancing towards 3.2 V through the use of organic/ionic gel electrolytes;

O4. Hybrid energy storage system for regenerative braking systems having the capability to actively manage the power storage and delivery on demand;

O5. Fostering collaboration between academia and national research institutes, laying down the foundation for promoting innovation and technology transfer towards potential industrial partners.

The objectives are encompassing aspects contiguous to fundamental research, innovation and technological knowledge transfer, all necessary for the fabrication of multi-celled energy storage devices and their integration with batteries and an intelligent power management system, aiming the implementation of a reliable system for regenerative braking in urban electrically driven means of travel (e.g. hoverboards, bicycles or electric scooters).
