About the project: The project aim consists in extending the capabilities of NanoScaleLab of IMT-Bucharest by completing its endowment with state-of-the art equipments and ensuring appropriate conditions of the laboratory premises. NanoScaleLab (Laboratory for structuring and characterization at nanometric scale) is placed on the technological platform of IMT-Bucharest and is part of a network of facilities, being open to teams from other research institutes, universities (access to education for students) and to the industry. At the beginning of this project, NanoScaleLab already owned a few major equipments which provided the opportunity to realize and characterize specific structures and devices at nanometric scale: EBL (Electron Beam Lithography station) , SEM (Scanning Electron Microscope), AFM (Atomic Force Microscope). Our specific aim in this project frame was to complete the laboratory infrastructure in order to enhance the performance of existing technological (structuring) equipments and also complement its characterization capabilities with nano-mechanical characterization. The extension this laboratory is essential for the scientific community in the country, providing it with a top level Research and Development unit for nanometer scale structuring and characterization., unique - one of it’s kind - in Romania,
