PhD. Eng. Roxana Tomescu- project manager– scientific researcher grade III and CO - obtained an Engineering degree in Electronics with a Specialization in Micro/Optoelectronics and Nanotechnologies (2010), a Master Degree in Optoelectronics (2012) and a PhD Magna Cum Laude in Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology (2015) from Polytechnical University of Bucharest with a specialization in plasmonic metasurfaces.
Author and co-author of 6 papers ISI ranged and 11 ISI proceedings, and a variety of others international conference presentations.

Senior researchers

PhD Cristian Kusko – (senior researcher grade I) obtained his Ph.D in Physics (2003) from Northeastern University, Boston, USA in the theory of condensed matter. He is author and co-author of 32 articles published in ISI journals and over 25 ISI conferences proceedings. His work accrued over 1300 citations (excluding self-citations) and a Hirsch factor of 9. His main expertise are: theoretical condensed matter physics, numerical methods and simulations of optical components and photonic devices, metamaterials and plasmonics, scanning near field optical microscopy, and optical vortices. C. Kusko is the responsible of the Scanning near field optical microscopy (SNOM) laboratory IMT-MINAFAB.

PhD Adrian Dinescu (senior researcher grade I and general manager of IMT-Bucharest) obtained his PhD degree (2010) in solid state physics from University of Bucharest. He co-authored about 212 papers ISI indexed. Hirsh factor: 17 with more than 1040 citations, according ISI Web of Science. His expertise is in micro and nanoscale characterization using FE-SEM and in structuring at the nanoscale using Electron Beam Lithograph. His expertise also includes: materials processing, device fabrication and optoelectronic measurements.

PhD. Dana Cristea (senior researcher grade I, Hirsh factor: 9) - PhD in Optoelectronics and Material for Electronics from University Polytechnica of Bucharest, head of Microphotonics Laboratory; main area of expertise are: micro-and nanophotonic devices, integrated optics, micro‐optics (design, processing and characterization); author of more than 90 papers published in journals and Conference Proceedings; reviewer for international scientific journals; coordinator of more than 20 national and international projects in the area of photonic devices, coordinator of projects for technology transfer to SMEs

PhD. Mihai Kusko (senior researcher grade II, Hirsh factor: 5), obtained the PhD in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering in 2009. His main expertise is simulation and modelling micro/nano photonic components, optical multilayers systems and surface plasmon resonance sensors, is involved in fabrication and characterization of the micro/nano photonic components.

Postdocs

PhD. Catalin Parvulescu (postdoc), Ph.D. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications with the topic "Micronanostructures: fabrication techniques optimized" from Doctoral School of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, SD-ETTI-B, the University Polytehnica of Bucharest in 2015. Currently he is a Technological Development Engineer in laboratory of technological processing with main activities in photolithography process. Professional experience in photolithography processes, processing and characterization of photosensitive films, wet etching, nanoimprint lithography processes, bonding processes, microfabrication processes for microfluidics, optomicroelectronics devices and solar cells. Member of research teams in 18 national research projects, author or co-authored of more than 30 paper in volumes of international journals and four patents.

PhD Livia Dinu received in 2012 the MSc degree in Advanced Materials Science, from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Bucharest received the PhD degree in Chemistry in 2015 from the University Politehnica of Bucharest, with Summa Cum Laude. She has been working in the field of electrochemical sensors and biosensors for the last 8 years receiving the medal „Constantin Luca” for the best young analytical chemist for excellence in research, awarded by the Romanian International Chapter of the
American Chemical Society. Dr. Livia Dinu has been involved as team member in 11 national and 2 international projects. In 2018, she received a post-doctoral research grant from UEFISCDI (PN-III-P1-1.1-PD-2016-0190, project title: Electrochemical and optical studies of the influence of selected substances responsible for precocious puberty.

PhD Iuliana Mihalache PhD (physics, 2015), Research Scientist III. She joined the IMT in 2011 and works in the field of nanomaterials science and applications. Moreover, since 2012 she became the coordinator of Fluorescence spectroscopy characterization Laboratory at MINAFAB-IMT, specialized in optical spectroscopy techniques: steady state and time resolved fluorescence, UV-VIS-NIR spectroscopy techniques employed in the study of chemical and physical properties of nanomaterials and hybrid organic/inorganic systems. She currently leads a core funding project (PN 1916/2019 – P3) where different nano-systems are explored for enhancing the sensing signal on Si/SiC nanostructurated substrate and the IMT team in a component project in 67PCCDI/ 2018 fosused on development of optical platform for HPV diagnostic. Scientific results: 23 ISI papers, 9 proceedings and 2 book chapters; h = 8, 165 citations (self-citation excluded).

PhD students:

Stefan Caramizoiu has Bachelors's degree in Civil Engineering from the Faculty of Building Services
Engineering at the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest in 2011, a Master's degree in chemistry from the Faculty of Physics at Bucharest University in 2017 he is a Ph.D. student at the Faculty of Physics at Bucharest University since 2018. He is with National Institute for Research and Development in Microtechnologies – IMT Bucharest since 2018

Veronica Anastasoaie (Junior researcher): Bachelor’s in Chemical Engineer specialization “Food chemistry” (Politehnica University of Bucharest). She has knowledge in elaboration and characterization of electrodes based on composite nanomaterials and electrodes chemically modified based on azulene for the detection of heavy metals in water by electrochemical methods. She is PhD student at the Faculty of Applied Chemistry and Materials Science, University of Bucharest and a member of Micro/Nanophotonics lab –IMT Bucharest where she handles technological process like polymer deposition, stock preparation, substrate functionalization. She was a team member of 5 national and international projects, and author/co-author of 10 ISI papers and a patent.

Dana Stan – graduated from Faculty of Chemical Technology within the Polytechnic Institute in Bucharest, and has a PhD. in Chemistry. Has over 25 years of experience in medical analysis techniques and has designed and manufactured more than 10 IVD kits (electrophoresis and immunology) which are put on the Romanian market. Some of the results have been published in 9 ISI articles, with over 40 citations, has over 10 participations in national and international conferences.

Nicolae-Bogdan Mincu – Graduated from University of Bedfordshire, Faculty of Biomedical Science. Currently, a PhD student within the Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest. Specialized in medical analysis techniques, biochemistry, electrophoresis, immunology, biosensors development and characterization.

Marian Tudor - Graduated from the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, with a license in electronics. Competences in creation and configuration of dedicated electronic circuits, monitoring and management for electronic circuits incidence and specialized software (Aries, EIA-CLIA Editor, CW Fusion, EP Studio, Autosoft).

Lorena Andreea Mateescu – Graduated from the Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest. PhD biologist, third degree scientific researcher, with expertise in the field of microbiological food quality control, molecular biology techniques for the detection of virulence and antibiotic resistance genes in bacterial strains. Phenotypic characterization of bacterial virulence factors. Biosensors development and characterization.

Diana Stan - Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine, University of Medicine and Pharmacy "Carol Davila" - Faculty of Medicine, Bucharest, Romania. Junior researcher is graduated in Medicine ("Carol Davila" University of Medicine and Pharmacy Bucharest). She has expertise in immunology, development of the new surface bio/immuno functionalization and testing with control and real samples. Biostatistics interpretation of the results.

Roxana Apetrei – Graduated from Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest. Currently, a PhD student within the Faculty of Biology, University of Bucharest. Highly experienced in molecular diagnosis of infections and tropical diseases. Also experienced in clinical microbiology and parasitology.
