In her scientific research she has made important contributions in fields such as optics and quantum physics in phase space, modeling of ballistic nanostructures and extending their applications in nanoelectronics, reversible logic or high-frequency devices, quantum-classical analogies and nanophotonics. She was awarded the Humbold Fellowship between February 1998-June 1999 and September 2001-March 2002, working as postdoc at the University of Mannheim, Germany, and then as visiting professor at University of Saint-Etienne, France (1997, 2000) and as Directeur de Recherche at CNRS LAAS Toulouse (2008, 2009, 2010). She has authored or co-authored about 240 scientific papers in ISI journals and about 100 contributions at international conferences, as well as 8 monographies at prestigious publishing houses (Springer, Artech House). For one of these monographies (Advanced Optoelectronic Devices, Springer), she was awarded the Gheorghe Cartianu Prize of the Romanian Academy in 1999, and served as Editor for the book series Frontiers, published at Springer, between 2003-2007.
