Harmonized Tiny Individuals can Produce Great Work - Recent Advancements on Autonomous Distributed Microsystems

Professor Yoshio Mita, Director of Nanosystem Integration Center, School of Engineering, the University of Tokyo

Since 1980s, one of the dreams of Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) researchers is to realize great work with tiny electromechanical devices. The reality of individual MEMS is small and weak: the functionality of individual device is limited. However, MEMS can take its critical advantage of being prolific. Many devices can be integrated in a small space. Here comes an idea - if we can harmonize these "small and weak" individuals, their collaborative work will produce great work. In the CAS 2026, professor Yoshio Mita will give a clear and humorous scientific talk on recent achievements on MEMS autonomous distibuted microsystems.
