Christos Tsamis received his Physics diploma from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens and his PhD degree from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Since 1996 he joined the Institute of Microelectronics (now Inst. of Nanoscience & Nanotechnology) at the National Center for Scientific Research "Demokritos" where he is currently "Director of Research". He is leading the group on "Energy Harvesting and Autonomous Sensors". His research interests focus on mechanical energy harvesting (triboelectric, piezoelectric), 3d-printed thermoelectrics, tactile and pressure sensors, flexible electronics and micro- and nanofabrication technologies for sensors and electronic devices. He is/was Scientific Responsible and/or Coordinator for several National and EU projects in the above topics and has participated in several others as a key researcher. He acts as reviewer for international journals and Conferences. He was General Conference Chairman for EUROSENSORS XXV that took take place in Athens (4-7 September 2011), as well as co-Chairman or Member of the Organizing Committee for International and National Conferences. He acts as an evaluator for the EU (H2020), the General Secretariat for Research and Technology and the Polish National Science Centre. He has supervised several PhDs and MSc theses. He is the author or co-author of over 200 publications in peer-reviewed International Journals, Conference Proceedings, and contributions in International Conferences. He has edited 3 Conference Proceedings Volumes.
