Dr. Florin Ciubotaru

Dr. Florin Ciubotaru  is a Principal Member of the Technical Staff at imec. He received a M.Sc. degree in Physics from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Romania in 2007, after which he started as an assistant professor in the field of magnetism within the Physics department. In 2007, he joined the Physics Department at Technische Universität Kaiserslautern as an associate researcher working on magnetization dynamics and related phenomena. He obtained a PhD degree in Physics in 2012 from at the same university.

Subsequently, he was a postdoctoral research fellow at KU Leuven (2014) and in 2016 started as a senior scientist at IMEC. He was the beneficiary of an EU Marie Curie Fellowship and is involved in the management of the European research and COST Action grants. He works on identifying technological relevant solutions based on spintronic device, and on the development of logic, radio-frequency, and sensor devices based on magnetic spin-related phenomena. He is the first author of over 10 published papers and co-author of several others, has (co-)authored over 50 conference contributions, has one granted patent (US and EP) and one patent application.
