Nicoleta Lupu, Ph.D.
Nicoleta Lupu received Dipl.-Eng. in Applied Physics, M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Physics from "Alexandru Ioan Cuza" University of Iași in 1996, 1997 and 2001, respectively. She joined the National Institute of Research and Development for Technical Physics in 1997. She is the General Director of the institute since 2011. She was JSPS (Japan Society for the Promotion of Science) fellow (2000) and postdoctoral fellow (2002-2005) at Institut National Polytechnique de Grenoble, France; Institute of Materials Research, Tohoku University, Sendai, Japan; Institut Laue Langevin (ILL) & European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) Grenoble, France. She was Visiting Professor at L'Université du Maine, France (2006) and IMR, Tohoku University, Sendai (2010, 2012, 2015). Dr. Lupu joined IEEE in 2001 and for about 18 years she was the Treasurer of the Romanian Chapter of the IEEE Magnetic Society. Dr. Lupu has been acting as Associate Editor-in-Chief of IEEE Transaction on Magnetics since 2020. Her research focuses on magnetic and magnetoelastic materials, nanoparticles and nanowire arrays, structurally disordered materials, sensors and devices, including Energy Harvesting Devices (EHDs) and energy storage/transportation.
