Prof. Gheorghe M. Ștefan,

Gheorghe M. Ștefan electronic engineer (1971), doctor in electronics (1980), professor emeritus in the Department of Electronic Devices, Circuits and Architectures of the Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest. Areas of interest: digital circuits, computer systems architecture, parallel computing, information epistemology. The didactic activity developed mainly in the disciplines: Digital Integrated Circuits, Computing Systems Architecture, Functional Electronics, Computational Theory, Reconfigurable Computing, taught at UPB, Transilvania University of Brașov, Maryland University. Minister of Education and Science (1990-1991). Scientific coordinator of the Center for New Electronic Architectures at the Romanian Academy (1993-2001). Founder of BrightScale start-up (2003-2009) in Silicon Valley for designing and producing the first 1024-core accelerator for video processing. Corresponding member of the Romanian Academy in the Department of Information Science and Technology since 2011.
