* Professor Dan Dascălu (b. April 5, 1942 - d. February 10, 2022) established the National Institute for Research and Development in Microtechnologies - IMT Bucharest (1996), was General manager of IMT between 1996-2011 and CAS Conference Chairman (1998-2016). He was full member of the Romanian Academy and Professor at Faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology, POLITEHNICA University of Bucharest. Professor Dascălu had very important contributions in the field of microelectronic devices and microwave components.
